MSPC Repairs & EDR terms and conditions.

MSPC Repairs will repair electronic devices at agreed costs for the customer and hold the item/items for 3 months’ maximum until payment has been made. This 3-month period will begin on the date the customer has first been notified about the item/items being ready for collection or delivery.

MSPC Repairs will make reasonable attempts to contact the customer regarding full payment or payment options during this period.

Failure to make full payment or agree a payment plan within the three-month time frame could result in MSPC Repairs seeking to sell or auction off the device to recoup any outstanding debt owed for the item. (A 24 month holding period can be legally enforced so any unpaid uncollected devices must remain with MSPC Repairs before any auction or sale action can be undertaken. A legal proceeding would be required to instigate the 24-month rule.)

Payment through instalments must be agreed by both parties and the first instalment must be received by MSPC Repairs at least 7 days before the 3-month period has expired. Any remaining payments thereafter would need to be made on a regular basis with the final payment to be made within a further 3 months starting from the date the first payment is received.

Failure to keep up regular payments or failure to make final payment within the 6 months from the date the item was repaired may result in the item the debt is owed on being sold or auctioned. (refer to 24 month holding period above.)

MSPC Repairs reserve the right to adjust or amend these terms and conditions without prior notice.

We (MSPC Repairs) must ensure we make reasonable attempts to contact the customer regarding payments that have been made.

We must also continue to communicate with the customer regarding instalment payments and any deadline during the period of any agreed payment plan.

If the six-month full payment time limit expires before full payment has been received no refund for previous payments will be given in the event of the item being sold. The customer would lose any part payments made and the item will become the property of MSPC Repairs once the mandatory 24-month time period has expired if full and final payment is not completed.

In the case of multiple items any item that has been paid for will be returned to the customer and MSPC Repairs will only hold items that have not been fully paid for.

We will not hold all devices until full payment is received in the case of a single customer with multiple items on the same invoice. As each item is paid for we will return this item to the owner. The customer is able to decide which item they would like returned once the costs owing for said item have been satisfied. Remaining items will continue to be held until payment towards them has been finalised not forgetting the six-month final payment condition and 24-month condition stated above.

These terms and conditions have been summarised full terms and conditions can be made available on request.

Customers / clients of MSPC Repairs agree to these terms when they have agreed to go ahead with the repair and the quote they have been given. MSPC Repairs will contact the customer if the costs towards repairing devices changes before continuing or proceeding with any repair work.

Both parties (MSPC Repairs & the device owner or representative.) would verbally or text agree any prices before any repair work is carried out. Any device found to have more faults than the customer informed us about will only have the known fault repaired at the price first agreed. Further faults would be discussed quoted for and agreed before any repair work commences.

If MSPC Repairs are not able to test any device before or after a repair due to pass codes or patterns not being provided MSPC Repairs will not accept any responsibility for any faults or errors that are discovered or mentioned after the initial repair has been completed (E.g. no Wi-Fi after a screen replacement or camera not working after screen replacement.) It is impossible to test certain things are in working order before carrying out any repairs if devices have been pass code locked so faults may already exist on the device before MSPC Repairs have even started any repair work. We will not accept any liability for Apple related software errors for example error 53 or touch id being disabled by Apple simply because we replaced the screen and not them.

MSPC Repairs reserve the right to refuse refunds or warranty repairs if pass codes, patterns, or passwords have been withheld or not provided at the start of the consultation. MSPC Repairs also reserve the right to refuse a repair if pass codes, Patterns, or log on information is not provided. When crucially needed to carry out the repair work. (Some repairs might not require MSPC Repairs to log on or unlock the device to test the device after a replacement. (laptop screen replacement log on information would not be required for this repair because the screen will still be seen working correctly during a test regardless of whether logged on or not.) In the case of damaged items unable to test until a repair has been carried out any lock on the device must be provided to enable testing as soon as the device can be used.

Genuine or OEM parts will always be used if such parts are easily sourced and can be purchased with relative ease. Some more expensive parts may need to be paid for in advance or a deposit paid before making any order. It is understood by customers are aware that some devices may not have genuine parts available so top quality generic replacement parts will be used for any repairs.

MSPC Repairs will inform the customer if the parts being used are OEM, Genuine, or generic.

Any device that has not managed to have the fault it came in about rectified would be covered by our no fix no fee policy. If the fault reported during consultation is rectified but other faults exist after the repair payment for the reported fault would still be required. Further agreed quotations would be made for repairing or rectifying any new faults discovered after first initial repair.

Warranty given on any LCD or Digitizer screen will become void if the screen or its frame have been damaged or cracked. Any damaged screen when presented to MSPC Repairs with cracks, deep scratches, lifted away from the frame or chips regardless of whether this happened before or after a fault with the screen was discovered will not be covered by our warranty. Our warranty does not cover other faults with the device Our warranty will only cover the parts we have replaced. Any device that presents other faults that are not related to the part we have provided MSPC Repairs will not accept any responsibility for. (summarised the device is seen working and tested by the customer before leaving the premises any faults that occur days or weeks later that are not relating to the part we have replaced will not be our responsibility this is agreed by the customer when they enter into the agreed repair contract at the start of consultation.)

IPhone’s and other smart phones can suffer other underlying damage when the screen is badly smashed. When a screen replacement has been carried out the phone is checked to see that all functions are working (if lock codes are provided) the customer then checks the device before paying and leaving. If the device develops an unrelated fault sometime in the future, we will not be held responsible for this fault unless it is a fault with the part we have used in the replacement.

Device manufacturers may void your warranty if parts have been replaced it remains the customer’s responsibility to ensure that any device still under warranty is taken to the manufacturer first as we will not be held responsible for warranty void issues with other companies. (Many manufacturers will simply void your warranty for impossible reasons E.g. Apple liquid indicators on the back of the charging dock. These indicators will turn red through normal phone use because of the condensation in your breath when using the phone. Apple will class this as liquid damage and refuse to accept the device under warranty.

Our warranty will strictly only cover the parts we have used and will not cover the rest of the device.

These terms and conditions form a summary of the more important terms and conditions and full terms/conditions will be made available on request regarding each separate area whether this is warranty terms or payment terms. Further terms and conditions not mentioned here can be provided if requested. MSPC Repairs reserve the right to refuse warranty or change these terms and conditions without prior notice. MSPC Repairs also reserve the right to a fair play policy where unreasonable expectations will not be considered or accepted and refusal to honour any warranty will be enforced if fowl play is suspected.

Finally,

Electronic devices, gadgets, smart-phones, or computers do go wrong and things happen that simply can’t be explained. Random baffling faults can appear without any warning or reason. This is the nature of modern day electronics. Please be aware of this if your device suddenly goes wrong for no apparent reason. It may not be because a repair has been carried out recently it could just simply be random electronic device failure phenomena. A very common phenomenon with Apple IPhone’s and IOS.

We do use OEM screens for our Apple device repairs these are made by the same manufacturer that makes the screens for Apple this does not mean they are branded as genuine Apple screens they are however genuine Original Manufacturer Equipment making them no different from Apple branded screens except a small white apple logo printed on the screen flex. It is important the customer knows the difference between genuine branded parts and genuine OEM parts.

Data recovery and data security terms and conditions.

All clients and customers personal data including pictures music and documents remain the responsibility of the client. MSPC Repairs will never hold any responsibility for customers data and any loss of data is an acceptable risk taken by the customer when they leave a device with us for repair or servicing. This covers all electronic devices that store any information put in place by the owner. Any backing up of data will remain the owners responsibility even though we will back up user data and return this data to the customers device after a service it still remains the customers responsibility if any data goes missing or ends up becoming corrupt.

When MSPC Repairs have been tasked with a data recovery or data rescue job any data that is recovered will be given to the customer and no copies will be held by MSPC Repairs. Once the data has been recovered any information or customers data that has not been saved will not be the responsibility of MSPC Repairs. In short whatever gets recovered is all that has been saved and any loss will be down to the customer and the failure to create a back up in advance. Customers are always advised to back up their data in some sort of hard copy. If data is lost while we are working on the customers device this is regrettable but we will not accept any responsibility for this.

When recovering data from a damaged device or hard drive any data that is saved may not be in folders created by the user. Data may be in one large folder where the owner will need to sort through it all to put it back in order. MSPC Repairs can not have any idea how the data was catalogued or will not sort through customers data due to privacy concerns. Any recovered data is what was rescued from the device which means some data could belong to a previous owner if the device is second-hand.

Data rescue/recovery software can recover images from visited web sites which could produce images the owner does not recognise because the image is from a cached copy of a website page. This can produce some embarrassing images which MSPC Repairs cannot be held responsible for the images we recover will not be sorted through or looked at so any unknown images the customer queries we will not have any knowledge about.

For second-hand devices if rescued data contains information and data from the previous owner this is not our responsibility. Privacy of this persons data is the responsibility of the current device owner. The previous owner would have been responsible for removing any personal data before parting with the device. All we can do is ask the owner to respect the previous owners privacy and delete the data from the recovery media.

MSPC Repairs will not keep stored backups for future rescue or recovery. The recovered data returned to the customer in the first instance will be the only copy of this data. Once the customer has this data it again becomes the customers responsibility to ensure it is safe.

As with any computer repair company MSPC Repairs will not accept any liability for loss of data in any way shape or form this will remain the customers responsibility to have carried out reasonable backing up procedures before bringing the device in for repair or service.

These form some basic terms and conditions regarding personal and professional data while with MSPC Repairs for either device repair or software servicing. The basic terms are MSPC Repairs will not hold any responsibility for loss of data in any way while a device is in our care.

IMPORTANT APPLE DEVICE NEWS UPDATE AS LISTED ON OUR LATEST NEWS PAGE. THIS RELATES TO OUR TERMS & CONDITIONS.

NEW APPLE DEVICES AND SOME OLDER DEVICES MANUFACTURED AFTER JULY 2015 HAVE BEEN SHOWING SIGNS OF THE ISSUES DETAILED BELOW.
IPad mini and airs are just a couple of the devices on the list of Apple devices that will brick if the screen is replaced. The IPad mini and air have been designed in such a way that repairing them is not meant to be possible. Apple has done this on purpose to ensure the public buy a new one rather than getting it repaired. We did repair these in the past but due to the new Apple practice of locking the screens to the logic board for each device we have now stopped providing this service.

After a screen replacement it will work but once the device has been restored or updated to the latest iOS the device will notice the screen is not the one it had from new and the device will either black out the screen or turn off the touch function rendering it useless. Devices made prior to early 2015 are not currently affected by this new Apple con.
All I can say is thanks Apple for making our expensive devices un-repairable unless done by Apple. Welcome to the age of the £600 disposable I device.
All new Apple devices are being made with some sort of logic board to screen link to prevent the consumer having it repaired by third party businesses or technicians. This is so they can sell new or refurbished devices exclusively themselves at a hiked up price.

Apple has always replaced IPhone’s and IPad’s with refurbished ones when returned to the Apple store but they will charge you a very unfair high price for a device that is essentially second-hand. The item you have returned will be refurbished and sold to the next unsuspecting customer. This means Apple have actually sold the same item twice.
Because of this nasty trick the fascists at Apple HQ are forcing on to the consumer we are no longer willing to risk customer’s devices becoming un-usable after we have carried out a screen replacement.

For this reason we will not be servicing new Apple devices like the air, mini, or pro IPad’s. Also IPhone 6s and some new generation iPods will not be repairable.

Thanks Apple for yet another way to tie our hands and force us to do it your way or no way.
(SOME DEVICES HAVE BEEN KNOWN TO DO THIS AFTER AN UPDATE EVEN THOUGH THE SCREEN HAS SUCCESSFULLY BEEN REPLACED IN THE PAST. THE THINKING IS THAT APPLE HAVE PLACED SOME SORT OF LOCK WITHIN THE LATEST iOS. SEARCHING THE INTERNET HAS PROVIDED ME WITH NO REAL CLUES OR INFORMATION REGARDING THIS BUT I HAVE HEARD ABOUT THIS PROBLEM FROM OTHER WELL RESPECTED APPLE DEVICE REPAIR COMPANIES.)
Devices that black screen after we have repaired them will not be covered under our warranty because of the Apple software dilemma customers will have these issues explained to them so they can decide at their own risk.

Since this was put up on the site Apple have admitted to causing this problem with killing IPhones through an iOS update. They have lied about the reason for doing this and thousands of IPhone 6 owners have lost all of their data and indeed the actual phone. After a huge backlash from consumers and legal firms Apple issued an apology and recommended customers take their device to an authorised Apple repair shop to have third party parts replaced with new Apple parts. The problem with this is no such shops existed or could be found and the Apple genuine parts still wouldn’t fix the bricking of the phone. So Apple released an iOS update intended to fix this issue known as error 53. See our post in latest news regarding this error. We will now see if this is all over and done with or if problems will still exist.
